I've had several of these, but since they start by saying that they
have got my email address from a friend and that they will in the US,
coupled with the fact that I live in the UK, it is easy to spot as a
scam. I get phishing from US banks to confirm my account details and
all sorts, so living in the UK has some advantages!

Seriously, though, we live in age age when phishing and Uganda-type
scams are rife, and I know of someone who has rejected a genuine legacy
because it looked like another scam - the lawyers finally convinced him
it was genuine, but it took some doing!

It is really sad that the human race is so full of evil people and
email makes it so easy for them. The vast majority of people are
honest, but that's difficult to perceive amongst the daily inbox.
