Somehow I passed my own test
Message-ID: <FJEKIMDEOJFJPBKBMDOPGENGDHAA.dnleeson@-----.net>

I was asked to listen to a performance of a work that I had never
heard, and didn't know who wrote it. It's "Gnarly Buttons" and
after five minutes of it I got mad as hell because it seemed so
very repetitions and never went anywhere. Then, later I found
out that it was Adams, and I concluded that maybe my ear has not
gone completely south because I never liked anything of Adams for
exactly that reason. So hearing a work of his out of the blue
and coming to same conclusion, I felt that maybe I'm not dead
yet.

Dan, I feel a lot like that at the ICA Conventions with much of the atonal,
ultra modern academic trash that is played at those so often.
