Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA) with Percussion as the Doctoral Instrument.
Just like there are DMA Clarinetists. They do the research papers, recitals,
courses, etc. and earn the Degree.

I may be being dense here, but how on earth can you be a "Doctorate of
Percussion?"

A doctorate is an academic (higher) degree earned by research.

Playing percussion (or any instrument) is a practical skill.

They are simply incompatible.
