My experience is that a change of facing or mouthpiece often requires a
change of reed design as well as strength... I don't know if it's
*necessary* but certain facings seem to respond better to different
designs in this way. My previous mouthpiece worked well with Rico GCS
Thick Blank. The current one worked sort of OK with them, on a softer
strength, but just worked *better* with some other designs.
