David,

I recently purchased and use Tom's ATG system and I find that it works
very well. I'm encouraging my students to purchase the system even
though it is pricey. Of all student annoyances, the one I most dislike
is giving a lesson to one who comes in with a bad reed. As noted by
Karl, it will improve just about any reed and the system will pay for
itself many times over before you have to buy a new set of sandpaper.

I've been using it on Gonzalez reeds but will be moving back to the
Vandoren V-12. I also play one of Walter's mouthpieces so I'm
encouraged that the combination of V-12 and ATG will work. I don't see
why the system should not work hand-made reeds, especially if you have
a profiler like a ReeDual. I'm thinking of breaking mine out of
confinement to try it. Hope the motor still turns!

Tom
