Boy, there's a name I haven't heard in years. I remember pouring over
a publication he authored about how to play in a jazz style. I
believe it was called something like "Teacher's Guide to Teaching
Stage Band." It was given out by Selmer. It was right on the money
and had valuable information for anyone wanting to learn how to treat
notes, rhythms, etc. He was truly one of the big names in early stage
band days and was very much respected for his pioneering efforts.

My hat is off to him and kind thoughts are extended to anyone
fortunate enough to have known him in person.
