Subj: [kl] Buffet repair problem - David Gilbert
Date: Sat, 14 May 2005 04:47:32 -0400

David,

I am suspicious regarding the repair work that was done on this
instrument. I wonder if the tenon socket was lengthened?? IF the tones F, E
, Eb and D are also resistant then there very well may be a leak from the
"F" pad. The tone of the "F" and "E" can be improved with some specialized
undercutting (See my article called "Tuning and Voicing the clarinet".

If you are in NY I would send it first to Kristen Bertrand at "Roberto's" in
NYC. She is a very fine craftsperson and also a player.
