I want to thank Karl, but also Bill and Joe, although they led the
discussion way off from my problem to the match between real instruments and
computer generated sound. As an almost ex-user of Personal Composer after
ten years I don't ask anymore about this match: sound is "always" different
from what I have instrumented.

But in the mean time I think the problem I had was related to my ignorance
of percussion notation. When using PC I used to notate the snare drum on the
middle line (in violin clef: where you find the B1). In Finale this note
jumped out of the stave. When using the arrow keys these notes jumped to one
ledger line above or below the stave, but never entered it, when I tried to
reallocate them. In the course of next week I will find out exactly, I hope,
how percussion is notated.

And as to the drum roll: I haven't yet tried it, but I think Karl's solution
is correct.

Ciao

Rien
