Karl, if I save Sibelius's "MIDI" output (of a slashed drum roll) as a
.mid file, and then I play the file with Microsoft's "Media Player", the
pattern of tat-tat-tat is different than when I play ithe file from
within Sibelius, but it is still jerky and irregular.

Is Media Player what you mean by a sequencer program?
