I admit to not following this thread very well, but under what school code
would this EVER be acceptable? I'm more interested in the facts, because
"right and wrong" here is a duel-edged sword.

Admittedly, even the students have their right to free speech, be it hateful
or otherwise. I don't see music as anything different than free speech, and
I believe the Supreme Court would agree with me. However, I think many of us
can agree to the immorality of such a performance in a high school pep
rally.

Sadly, I *have* seen blackface performed by white college students,
specifically in the fraternity scene. Several people I thought of as
friends, I no longer speak to out of complete disgust.
