Subj: [kl] Ludendorff about Mozart and freemasons

Dear List, with a special hope on Dan as Mozart expert,

I have a most disturbing book in my hands by Mathilde Ludendorff with a
section about Mozart who is known as an antisemite and has similar views to
Hitler. I would love to know what parts of it are fact. Lots of it I find
very disturbing.

The book is called "Der ungesühnte Frevel an Luther, Lessing, Mozart und
Schiller" with the subtitle, "Ein Beitrag zur Deutschen Kulturgeschichte" by
Mathilde Ludendorff. In English it means something like "The Unreconciled
Outrage on L, L, M and S ..." with subtitle: "A Contribution to German
Cultural History" first published in 1928. Edition from 1935 printed in old
fashioned German print which takes quite some getting used to. The title
intrigued me and so I fetched it from the library.

I just read the section on Mozart. What she writes sounds very similar to
(neo) nazi propaganda. Facts mixed with very opininated assertions gives me
a rather urgent feeling that I have to find out what's true and what's not.

I won't give the shocking details in this mail but does anybody know
something about it? Dan, I read your book, "Opus Ultimum". When I have time,
I'll read it again with this "information" in mind. I'd love to know what
parts of this book are true. But in fact, I'm surprised that this book is
readily available from my local library.

Greetings,
David
