At least Vernon Duke didn't write it as July or August in Paris! Either=20
one would be laughable.

Even June has its idiosyncracies. Two years ago when I was there I got=20
stuck in the Danish House of La Cit=E9 universitaire, on the 5th floor with=
=20
one window and a skylight. Thank goodness for the skylight. The first=20
week felt like August, with the humidity. When my French class was over=20
all I could think about doing was going back to my room, taking off my=20
clothes and opening the window and the skylight for whatever breeze there=20
was. One's tolerance DOES improve but first you have to get over jet lag=20
and then become acclimated to the weather. I did, and the rest of my trip=
=20
was wonderful.

I've been there in June in which all but three days were glorious and other=
=20
ones in which all but three days were miserable. April's differences are=20
about the same, if a little colder. Still, it is Paris. Just give me 10=20
minutes to pack!
