Would that it were so easy! I am regularly playing tenor in a big band
here and love the music. Our leader seems to enjoy rock/funk/latin/modern
stuff more than the classics, but for dance gigs the Glenn Miller, etc.,
charts come out and the rest of us are happier! Last night at rehearsal we
took out "Pavanne," a Woody Herman number based on a piece by Gabriel
Faure. The lead clarinet line is in MY part, which is fine by me.
