In 1963 (I think) this Requiem was performed on the occasion of the
consecration of the new cathedral of Coventry, UK. It was broadcasted life
on television and, actually, one of the first things I saw on TV. I was very
impressed, and whenever I had a chance to go to a performance of it, I have
been there.

Tuesday it will be May 4 again, and we will remember all people who died
because of WWII and later wars, from Korea to Iraq. It will be commemorated
that WWII in this country was terminated 60 years ago. And in nearby Utrecht
the Requiem will go again. I'll be there (my wife will go to the Mozart
Requiem, that is performed by our local choir).

My wife and I were in London a couple of days, we only just returned.
Thursday we visited the Lion King (I'll come back to that on this list,
maybe), and Friday we were in the famous Saint Martin-in-the-Fields for the
Monteverdi Vespers. I happened to come into contact with one of the choir
singers, and guess what: he was in the boys choir in Coventry in 1963!
