Ted Casher here. I went to Berklee 45 years ago, when it was a small
school. Every day I went, I learned something new, something I could use
immediately in my work as a musician. I had a wonderful time, and learned a
lot, and made many friends.

I taught there for a period of two years. By that time, Berklee acquired
their degree-granting charter, had expanded in size, and had acquired a
great deal of physical plant.

The school is oriented toward contemporary music and jazz. I don't know who
is teaching clarinet right now. It is now the biggest independent music
school in the USA, having a student population of over 2000 aspiring music
makers. If a clarinet player is oriented toward composition, or recording,
or music education, it would be a good experience. It would also be a great
place to learn doubling.

However, if the student is aspiring toward a career in classical
performance, the student might be better off elsewhere.
