Hi List,

I'm looking into having some recorders made for me out of exotic woods
rather than traditional or standard woods available from the mass produced
recorder makers.

As we have several list members wo do barrels and mouthpieces in other woods
woods, I thought this might be a good place to ask about instrument quaity
exotic wood suppliers.

The only place I've really found that sells wood besides grenadilla, is
Exotc Woods Company, Inc. in New Jersey. I can find plenty of other exotic
wood dealers, but they are generally standard lumber dealers who don't
really sort out wood for specific use in woodwinds.

Are there any other dealers, that i'm perhaps not finding due to lack of
them having a website?

I'm thinking of Cocobolo for an alto recorder, and something like Brazilian
Kingwood, Tulipwood, or Olivewood for a soprano recorder.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Daniel Stover
