Walter,

I use a tuner, don't get me wrong, but like you said,
I use it for individual practice.

I had a band director once that advised that those of
us who knew that there were tuning issues should tune
to those who cannot hear the tuning issues, because
those people have no idea how to tune. Makes sense.
