Tony, there was no pattern to the answers. On one question where the player
was German, the answer might be American, and on the next where the player
was German, the answer was French. Mostly it was a random spread.

Going off air for two days unless I can get a connection in Wendover, UT and
Rawlins, WY.

I don´t have the Francaix to hand, but ISTR that bit of it´s in A major;
that´s
B major on the Bb clarinet -- wow, that *really* takes advantage of the
strengths of the instrument:-( -- yet on the computer at conservatoire I´m
teaching at at the moment it comes out in Bb major. So, a quite significant
upping of speed.
Somebody with access to both a tuner and the score should be able to settle
the
matter.
By the way, Dan, how do the results look if you break them down according to
my
suggestion? namely, did a significant number of people think that one
particular person was German, did a significant number of people think that
another particular person was French, did a significant number of people
think
that another particular person was English, and so on, regardless of whether
or
not any of them actually were?
Tony
