It's true that I have the opposite needs. I want playback more than I
want notation. And perhaps your 850 mHz is just enough more than the
700 mHz on my slow machine to make a difference? The box says "minimum
1 gHz, but their tech desk told me that even 1 gHz isn't always enough
as you add more staffs and/or more reverberation.

Another thought is that even Sibelius 3.0 (as opposed to 3.1) was ---
or pehaps still is? --- sold without Kontact. I know this because, in
the beginning, Sibelius shipped me the "Kontact update" in error. The
box said that it would work only on with Sibelius 3.0 and higher ---
which I didn't have at the time. Thus 2.0 users probably don't need
the same speed or memory space as 3.1 users do.
