Hmm, yes, I did realize it sounded completely patronizing about 5
minutes after I'd sent the email... :- Sorry about that.

But it still seems to me that the best way of answering Charlie's
questions is to listen to the work (preferably with score in hand) and
judge from that context. That's serious---not a wisecrack.
