As another clarinet player in my 50's, I can attest that if anything,
our joints are likely to be TOO tight. She might, however, want to
check the joints on her clarinet.

As for the insecurity issue; I believe that Audrey has been on the list
long enough to have witnessed one or two of our periodic discussions of
neckstraps, Kooiman thumbrests, etc? Have you tried any of these?
