Here is the program for Feb. 7, 1950, of the CBS Symphony Orchestra.
Note the second piece.
Program in Observance of the Jewish Music Festival

Hanson, Howard
Andante from Romantic Symphony

Prokofiev, Sergey
Overture on Yiddish Themes

Weinberg, Jacob
Nocturne and Youngsters Dance (from Carnival in Israel)
First broadcast perf.

Achron, Joseph
Hebrew melody

Gressin
Jewish Orchestra at the Burgomaster's Balls
(incidental music for The Inspector General)

Secunda, Sholom
Yemenite Dance

Bloch, Ernest
Fugue (Concerto Grosso)

I, too, grew up in a home where Yiddish was sometimes spoken. I don't
believe Yiddish is an ethnic slur; it's the name of a language and a
culture centered in Eastern Europe, transplanted to the United States,
among other countries, in the late 19th-early 20th centuries. "Yid"
just means "Jew," in Yiddish. If non-Yids put a negative spin on it,
that's their problem!
