I'm a little suspicious of the notion that either Wright or McLane actually used a single Chedeville throughout their collective careers. Major American players of that era (mid-20th century through maybe the 1960s) mostly all used either Kaspar or Chedeville mouthpieces. But often they would collect them, using one until they found another that they felt was more wonderful (or just newer and fresher) than the last one. The deposed ones were put in a box or drawer and sometimes lent to students. I don't know about either Wright or McLane, but I suspect they were no different.
