Subj: [kl] Legendary mouthpiece-Where is it?

First off, I want to assure anyone reading this that I do not believe a
mouthpiece makes the sound that comes out of a clarinet. That comes
from the player's concept of sound. This question is out of pure
curiosity:

I have read two accounts by David Weber, one in the liner notes to an
old Ralph McLane LP and one in The Clarinet a few years back, in which
he talks about the old Chedeville McLane used to play. He praised it
as wonderful and also said in both sources that McLane passed it on to
Harold Wright. Subsequently, I have read interviews with a couple
students of Wright who also had the chance to play it and refered to it
as excellent.

My question is this: With the tragic passing of Harold Wright in the
early 90's, where did this mouthpiece end up? William Hudgins, perhaps?

Any input relating to this would be fascinatinating.

James
