I have a somewhat more simple question:

When you talk "interface" exactly what do you mean?

Does this mean the means of input for notations? Is it possible in both
Finale and Sibelius to use a keyboard hooked up to the computer for
input to your score? (I have seen this done, but only in old programs -
years & years ago - that were not well done, and took more time than
they were worth)

I am waiting to purchase anything of this sort until I am employed by a
school, because I cannot afford such a program without a discount of
some sort. (I would also need the keyboard, as well)

Joseph, and others who have used these, how long did it take you to read
the instructions, install, and begin to use these programs to compose, etc.?
