One of the big advantages of the Kooiman Etude over the original Kooiman it
that it is MUCH less expensive (I think the current retail is $32.95, vs. a
couple of hundred dollars). The other is that the thumb hook is designed
to be easily removed from the mounting plate attached to the instrument so
it will fit in the case without modification or strain.
