There is no "dark" Rovner ligature. The ligatures are regular (no
cutout), light (square cutout on the back), Mark III (this has an angled
cut on one side) and the various Eddie Daniels models (with ribs on the
inner side--removeable in one model)

Subject: [kl] Rovner Ligatures
Can anyone tell me how to distinguish *by appearance* a "regular" Rovner
Bb ligature from a "dark?" I bought two, supposedly one of each a year
or so ago. I definitely prefer one of them over the other and use it
exclusively now, but they look identical to me - so much so that I've
marked the one I like with some red marker so I don't have to guess if
they're both out for some reason. I want to buy a spare like the one I'm
using - but I don't know which it is. Anyone know the secret code? Or
did I just end up with two of the same thing that happen to sound
different?
