Hi

I wonder if anyone on the list, especially repair techs on the list
have any thoughts on this. Recently after doing a number of gigs on
bass I was wondering if anyone ever has put a "water key" at the bottom
of the bend in the neck, much as is found in a bari sax or in brass
instruments to release the build up of water. Water can accumulate up
quite a bit, especially in the steep curve found in the Buffet and
Charles Bay type necks. I am assuming that there is a practical or
acoustical reason why this is not done, not just that it has not been
thought of. I imagine it could be handy to be able to eliminate the
moisture without having to disassemble part of the instrument in
performance. Any thoughts?
