I just shake my head when I hear of a top line BsCl having such
intonation problems. Maybe the problem lies with the mouthpiece or crud
in the tone holes.

My Wurlitzer BsCl is wonderfully in tune, plastic body, unknown brand
mouthpiece and and synthetic reed (some kind of flexible plastic) put
out by BARI, clipped and adjusted for me and the sound I want. Same
setup AND REED for 35 years. Same intonation, same response, same tone.
