Actually, the best pizza I ever ate in my life was somewhere in western
Europe, Rien. I don't remember which country it was, but I strongly
suspect it was in the Netherlands. Pizza is certainly *NOT* a global
constant, no more than clarinets or musical sounds are! My pizza had
the general background flavor that an American expects from a pepperoni
pizza, but it was piled at least 4" high (no exaggeration) with fresh
vegetables (and I believe apple slices). I had been unprepared (before
it was served) that such a thing existed on this planet.

While I shouldn't repeat myself and waste bandwidth (or Mark's disk
space), the questions that have already been itemized about which
players have are 'truly German" or 'not truly German' need to be
addressed. David's examples are absolutely to the point.

I presume that Dan doesn't want his effort to disintegrate into a "Test
To See If You Agree With Dan's Categories".

Rather, isn't the goal to *_define_* something and then to test whether
others can actually _hear_ it. However Dan's hypothesis (with which I
agree) is that "German sound" doesn't have a definition in the first
place.

This is why, several times now, I have discussed adding the words
"headquartered in Germany" to the challenge's title, and/or to simply
testing whether a player can be reliably identified while performing
different compositions.

Or as a statistician would ask: Exactly what is the null hypothesis in
this situation? (since 20 samples is a common use for the t-test)

FWIW.......
