Ah yes, an "off-by-one" error on my part....Thanks

Is the "full Boehm" instrument, that can play Eb, a little bit longer
than the "standard" Bb instrument - I suppose that physics says it
would have to be. Where is the extra length "placed", so to speak? A
longer bell or a longer lower joint? Or both?

17 keys is standard on a clarinet. Many of the top models (like mine)
come with an 18th key for a LH little finger Ab/Eb. A few more have a
19th key for the RH little finger for a low Eb ("full Boehm").
