I make a fine alto clarinet mouthpiece.

Reeds---

Are you using alto clarinet reeds or the Vandoren alto sax width and shape reeds?

Don't use short faced reeds like Rico. Stock mouthpieces really don't cut it.

What is your brand alto clarinet?

Subject: [kl] honky alto clarinet

Hello all,

I periodically try to help upgrade the workings of one
of my university's alto clarinets. Tonight a student
brought it in making a huge shrieky sound (like a loud
alarm!). They're down to one reed, I'm going to pick
up a box tomorrow, and the mpc. (a noname) seemed to
have a flat table. In case I'm missing anything, has
anyone run into this before? The reed was really
warped on the back and we got it mostly flattened, but
it was still shriek city.

The instrument does seal fine.

Thanks,

=====
