Don't some orchestras illustrate this? For example, the Vienna
Philharmonic gathers a certain sort of musician. It's not that there
is an ethnic 'Viennasound', but rather that the VPO draws a specific
type of musician (highy skilled, male, plays German system clarinets,
etc.)
