I will second the recommendation of Mike Lowenstern. I've studied with him and he is not only an amazing clarinetist but an amazing person. If you want to hear what the bass should sound like, check him out. Not only is his playing considered by many as the best of its kind, but he is a concerned teacher, not trying to prove that he knows everything about the clarinet. He is the first to tell you that he may not be the best to ask about a certain question or what have you. He will send you off to another to make sure you find the answer you are looking for.
