I would think that all clarinets are clarinetsound. That the
glass harmonica was built by Franklin in America does not make it
an Americansound.

Granted, a couple of Frenchmen stole his ideas for their reed &
hollow
stick instruments, but translating Goethe, say, into English
doesn't
make him any less of a German. (Or any more readable.)
