In general I agree with that. However, the physical dimensions of the
clarinet being played do affect the sound to some extent, and it has to
be noted that, for historical reasons, certain different types of design
are associated with different geographical areas.
I think it's reasonable therefore to assume that there may be slight
"biases" in the sound that clarinettists produce, based on the
instrument they use. But these are not strong biases, and probably not
as great as the bias that comes from the individual. And these are to
do with instrument of choice, not nationality.
