Tony and Dan:

You think if you prance around here trying to making others look small, it
makes you look big. Hehehehe. You don't have a clue how the human heart
works. Rather your actions make you look small. Your hearts have atrophied.

Dan, though you tend to paraphrase C.S. Lewis without attribution, C.S.
you're not.

Tony, if I'd written the gobbledegook that you did for the Cambridge
Companion, I'd be ashamed. And we won't make mention of the inadvertant
grace notes you played on the Basset with the BBC. Undoubtedly, your
performance would have been better on the A. And no, Tony, I can't do it
better than you did, but I'm an amateur, getting back into it after 30 years
away. (Perhaps the status of amateur is more blessed than that of pro, for
we don't have the added baggage to haul around.)

Even though I've learned from both of you, I expect more of professionals
than you two display. I think this list deserves apologies from you.

Vann Joe Turner
