Do you think they really know what they're asking for? I once
played a gig with a 5-piece Dixie combo at a reception for the
100th anniversary of a local opera house turned event facility.
I think the organizers wanted "period" music but didn't realize
what a 5-piece Dixie combo actually sounds like. We were asked
to play more quietly. What Dixie combo plays quietly???!!!

I hope your brother-in-law's bosses are smarter than this outfit was.
