Roger,
I feel that Reger's music is overly chromatic, overly complex and goes
NOWHERE, slowly. In other words, I think they are not exactly God's
gift to the literature. That said, the people who do like them like
them because the phrases are very l o n g. Don't look for concise
Brahmsian phrasing. Rather, think Wagnerian - the endless line...
