I've owned cars from the 1935 vintage forward....and a lot of cars from 1977
forward....and I can say without a doubt that new cars are FAR better than
the older cars. Way better.
My newer Buffet clarinets are way better than the clarinets that I owned and
played in the 70s and 80s. I own quite a few high quality vintage
mouthpieces and Walter, Clark Fobes, Michael Lomax, Greg Smith and others
are producing mouthpieces as good as any I've ever played.

So....I do not buy into this "going downhill" business.
