Ohhh boy. What an excellent plead.
So good, in fact, that I pried a ten spot out of my tight fists. I think it
was #198 of 240.
I figured that was more useful than mailing you couple of Grand Concert
#3's, Mark.
Seriously, thank you so much for your hard work on this site.

Ummm, you aren't in one of those mansions off Beck Road, are you?? <grin>
I'm lurking here over in Wixom.

I thoroughly enjoy lurking & reading the posts from many regulars and
others. I look forward to checking my mailbox every day to delete the junk
mail to get to pure [kl] messages. The good natured verbal jousting is
entertaining as well. Particularly when an unsolicited opinion/statement is
chopped up, diced and served back to the originator on a pizza. {snicker}.

On another note (ooh, did I really write that?), the humor injected by Dan
Leeson and Tony Pay are without equal. Nobody can say that clarinet talk is
without humor or entertainment.

As a hack who's been out of it for nearly thi(honk)y years (ouch) and
getting ready to start up again with a newer Buffet E-11 (wish I'd had one
back then), I am getting some good tips and information off this site. I've
never had a lesson in my life (and it painfully showed way back then). I was
mostly the plastic Bundy 2nd Clarinet player who stumbled his way through
concerts and always showed up for Marching Band football games because there
was a terrific party afterwards. Many of you are obviously professionals,
devoted hobbyists, and way over my head, however, I and perhaps some of the
younger students lurking on this site get much from your discussions. Keep
them coming.

Message to other lurkers like me......pry out a dead president from your
wallet. We can all do without a couple of Big Mac meals to a good cause.
(But certainly not pizza!).
With apologies to Dan Leeson and many thanks to Mark Charette I remain,

Mike Kirk
The meek and sometimes sharp

This is always the hard spot - more than 3 weeks in, and the number of
donors towards the upkeep of the BBoard and mailing lists for all intents
and purposes just stops.

There are literally tens of thousands of people using the facilities that
are provided, and I'm asking for only a small fraction of those people to
contribute something - a dollar or two, something to show that you're
enjoying those services provided. There's no other money coming in -
anything that's not covered by the donations comes directly out of my
wallet.

I personally think the services here are worth the cost of a reed or two
on an annual basis, and I think most of you feel pretty much the same
way.

53 more donations of any size will let us hit our goal. For those of you
who haven't donated, visit https://secure.donax-us.com/donation/ and get
on the list!

| Mon Feb 21 - still 63 donations short of the goal. Nothing |
| in life is free - including 5 servers and bandwidth. A reed |
