I originally got the Reger MIDI files after a fellow clarinetist in the HB
Concert Band suggested his quintet as something I might want to turn into a
modern edition. I was amazed to be able to find the MIDI files on the Web
(I may have gotten them from clarinetto.it, but I can't remember for sure),
but upon listening to them, I decided against it. I listened to them again
this morning and decided that except for the last movement it just doesn't
go anywhere, in my opinion. I wasn't even motivated to put the MIDI files
up on my Web page. But y'all don't have to take my opinion for it. We're
at our vacation home near Yosemite until Sunday and I don't have any way of
uploading them to my page, but I'll do it when I get back and announce
their arrival at that time. You can make up your own minds.

As for the basset horn part to be played by a second violin on KVA 90, You
folks have talked me into downloading the whole thing (I didn't bring it
with me on this trip), fix up the Basset Horn part and print out everything
in time for our quintet rehearsal on Friday. I'll even take a picture of
us to show how happy we are when we play it. (It sounds better with a
violin playing the basset horn part, don't you think, Wolfy?) A big 8-)

Oliver
