Where the logic gets convoluted is in the process of
choice. Every piper can afford at least one good reed
every 10 years. Observation shows us that not every
piper demands the stability of pitch and attack that a
great piper demands in and of a leak free bag and a
great instrument. Virtually the same could be said
for players of any instrument.
In respect to clarinet mouthpieces that respond slowly
, instruments and ancillary equipment that have
limited dynamic potential; they are just fine for
those who fear that their tried and true position may
have loopholes.
Is there a hidden joke or anti agenda behind having
drawers of non working parts. We have all been there,
however it seems more frugal to have one great
mouthpiece than 20 not so great ones if given the
choice. The same should be said for a ligature with at
least 10 year warrantee to separate quality from...
