to ad to info on mouthpiece hissing. Daniel some
manufacturers profile the table so extreemly so that
those of us that do not know why reeds warp will get
added stability avoiding that one of many causes of
chirping. Unfortunately muck is missing from the big
picture as anyone studying the field ror decades
should know. A lack of contact between the reed and
the window at the line we call scribe line (where the
bark disappears) and the thin edge therein produce
edge tones not unlike that available on flutes.
Thinning that edge to produce cheap freedom from
resistance is a mistake as is too much table contour
or having contour in the wrong place. Some
manufacturers "forget what their previous masters
knew" and pretend to speak a different language when
outside ideas and knowledge is graciously shared.
