It sounds interesting, Rien. Did the three composers discuss any
details about writing together? Perhaps each wrote a separate
movement?
<<

No, each composer had two separate works. Paul Dzon had a concerto for
claribass ("bass clarinet") and band (but unfortunately the soloist fell
ill), and a concerto for soprano saxophone and band, both works had their
world première. André van Zoelen had a concerto for band "Malà fatra", I
asked him what that means, but he said I should find out myself, and
variations on the Wilhelmus (the Dutch national hymn) that has been played
before but went the first time in The Netherlands. He conducted both works
himself. The third composer, Kees Schoonenbeek, is a bit older and a
well-known person in the Dutch band world (Dzon is beginning to build up a
name too, but van Zoelen was completely new to me).

Schoonenbeek and Dzon also were present, but they did not interfere with
what was going on on stage. But I understand the conductor of the orchestra
and they have been in contact before.

Hope to have been useful.
