Part of the answer is that you may have accommodated your technique to a
problem without being consciously aware that the problem exists and is
unnecessary and could be eliminated by adjustment or other maintenance.

Some of us live nearer to a competent repair shop than others, or are
more willing to ship our instrument, or enjoy doing our own minor
maintenance, or are more deeply offended by minor glitches. So it all
depends.
