There have been some unpleasant incidents with Ohme. It happened that
I was in Milwaukee when a Klarinet member who lives in New York had
already spent months (perhaps as many as six months, I don't remember
exactly how many) trying to get his instrument back from Ohme. So I
visited Ohme's shop (it wasn't open and the landlord told me that he
didn't know how to contact Ohme) on behalf of the fellow in New York.
It's not appropriate for me to detail the results in public, except to
say that while the instrument was eventually returned undamaged, I would
*never* send my own instrument to Ohme.

One repair man with an unimpeachable reputation for both quality and
service, who posts on this list, is Walter Grabner.
