OK, here's the deal.

You bought a couple of clarinets on Ebay. I looked at them in the links you
provided with an earlier message.

The clarinets you bought from Ebay were pretty much from the bottom of the
barrel, meaning that they obviously (to my eyes) were going to need work. You
were expecting too much if you thought they would be great without any further
attention. The old adage about getting something for nothing applies on Ebay,
too. You just don't find great-playing clarinets for $36, even on Ebay. The
possible exception to this would be a Bundy or a Vito, but those are plastic, and
you wanted wood.

OK. So you bought the clarinets. As someone else said, the first one looks
like a good instrument. Before you put any more money into anything else, please
do get that one put into playing condition. Don't worry about the fact that
your local music store "sends them out". $150 is a very fair price for a repad.

You will be compounding your problems if you buy one of the cheapie imports.
Then you will have THREE clarinets that don't work.

Cut your losses, man. You've got one, maybe two, clarinets that, with minimal
further investment, will be playable. That seems to me to be the way to go.

TRUST me!!

Susan
