The advice on choosing a mouthpiece was to go the the largest available music
store and buy their 6 most expensive mouthpieces and place them in a bag. Then
you were to go to a lake and rent a rowboat and row to the middle of the lake,
blindfold yourself, and one by one throw five of the mouthpieces overboard.
You were then to "practice like Hell" on the remaining one.
