It either works or it doesn't - I personally don't know as I didn't try one,
but did talk for a while to their rep.

It is a piece of very (VERY) thin yet strong and flexible metal which slips
between the
reed and the facing of the mouthpiece. What it does is to seperate the reed
from the mouthpiece thus giving the reed more vibrational distance to the
mouthpiece. They don't say that, but that's what my take on it was - they
say that it helps the reed vibrate much better than without. I would think
that (if it works) it would help a reed on it's way out to prolong it's
life.

These things are just an attempt to find the "Golden Goose" of
Clarinetistry.
We all could spend more time practicing and a lot less time trying to
find a quick fix for our shortcomings.
Sorry to sound harsh but I feel very strongly that nothing can overcome
a poor technique/reed.

Thanks,=20
